Headquartered right here in Mauldin, South Carolina, our mission is simple yet urgent: to go where the need is greatest, preach the gospel, serve communities with hands-on love, and bring hope to the lost around the world.

Who’s Behind It: The Story of Founder Ernesto Chaparro
Reaching Out The Lost was founded by Ernesto Chaparro, a dedicated servant of God whose life has been defined by a lifelong commitment to proclaiming the gospel. Originally from Colombia and a resident of the United States since 1968, Ernesto answered his call to ministry in 1972 and has faithfully served as a pastor for 36 years.

Over a remarkable decades-long career, Ernesto founded the Iglesia Bautista Canaan in New York (serving for 30 years), helped establish the Fraternidad de Iglesias Bautistas of New York and New Jersey, and planted the Hispana de Rocky Creek church in Greenville, South Carolina. Today, he channels that immense wealth of experience into his role as the founder and director of Reaching Out The Lost—leading global evangelistic efforts and driving the mission forward with a humble heart and an unwavering passion for the lost.

What We Do

We don't just stay in one place—we move. Reaching Out The Lost is actively on the ground across multiple countries, including Colombia, Ecuador, Cuba, Guatemala, and Spain.
